Badfish
Badfish
The BADFISH is my mid-length fish. It goes in a wide variety of waves, and you can surf it with a different approach depending on how you feel. Hard, powerful turns of the tail in big open walls or trimming through sections with a sneaky cheater 5 in small waves.
The BADFISH does it all in 1-6ft waves.
Wider nose outline to effortlessly let you get into waves and flow down the line. Pulling right in at the tail with a subtle hip behind the fins to help sink and jam turns. Continuous rocker allowing for carves in tight transitions, but is flat enough for ease of trim.
The bottom is rolled in the nose with turned up rails to allow you to trim up the front, plough through chop and not catch. Also gives a buttery feel like snowboarding through powder when on the tail. The middle transitions to a panel vee with a foiled rail to allow manoeuvrability, bite the wall and set a turn.
The tail thins out, and the bottom has a pronounced concave vee that gives speed and lift while still letting the bigger board roll over on rail and accelerate through turns. These elements are complemented by the keel fins set back to drive this craft.
The size range of this board is 6’4 - 8’0 for everyday shredding or 9ft + to perform as a glider. Depending on what waves you want it for and what your approach is.
I ride a 7’4 x 21 x 2 3/4. I’m 5’8, 70kgs.
